  • Low Budget Street Racing is proud to announce that we
    are the class sponsor for the Maryland Street Racing
    Association's Limited Drag Radial  class. We hope to see
    all of the 275 drag radial guys show up to compete. Check
    out the rules below:


    GENERAL
    - Heads Up Class
    - .400 Pro Tree
    - 1/8 mile class, 1st to finish wins.
    - All cars must pass NHRA safety inspection
    - All competitors are to use a 275 Drag Radial Tire (50 or 60 series) MUST say 275 on
    sidewall.
    - All run field with qualifying to set up pro ladder.
    SUSPENSION
    - Stock front frame rails required, direct replacement light weight components allowed
    (k-member, coilovers, etc.)
    - Front k-member may be modified for rack and pinion and oil pan access.
    - Stock frame rails required, may be notched for tire clearance.
    - Ladder bar and coilovers ok with stock rear frame rails/ 1/4 tub OK.
    - Welded in Anti-Roll OK.
    - No Wheelie Bars
    ENGINE
    - Nitrous systems may consist of a direct port fogger style with 1 Nozzle per cylinder, 4
    solenoids and a purge or plate style system with 2 solenoids and a purge.
    -Progressive boxes, digi-sets and other timers/retards OK.
    -Single turbo and Centrifugal Superchargers allowed without the aid of water to air
    intercoolers or Meth/water injection on V8 applications unless factory installed.
    - 4 and 6 cylinder cars may use any and all of the above for intercooling.
    - Roots blower allowed with 2 carbs or injection
    - No multiple power adders (Twin turbos, Blower, N2O, etc.)
    - Multiple carbs and or sheet metal intakes allowed only on Naturally Aspirated
    Combos Only
    INTERIOR/EXTERIOR
    - 2 Front seats, covered door panels, factory appearing dash and carpet are required.  
    Emphasis on STREET APPEARING.
    - Fiberglass limited to hood, hood scoop and front and rear bumpers.
    - Factory OEM or OEM replacement windows required.  NO LEXAN, speed glass or
    similar
    light weight replacements with the exception of rear windows on trucks (roll bar access)
    - No Race car lettering.  Stickers for sponsors or contingency OK.
    EXHAUST
    -Mufflers are required on all cars except Turbos.
    ELECTRONICS
    - Trans Brakes OK.  NO Delay Boxes to be used for launch purposes.

  • Back in 1999 we made an attempt to start a local
    racing organization called the Mid Atlantic Street
    Racing Association, or the MASRA for short. We
    put together three classes, including Drag Radial,
    which basically followed the rules of the then NMCA
    Cheap Street, and then came Real Street which
    was a 10" tire stock suspension class. To round out
    the classes came the Killah Street class, which was
    the grandaddy of classes which was retty much run
    what cha brung, and hope you brought enough. I
    worked out a deal with Bill Wilcom at 75/80 where
    we would run the Killah Street class at his track on
    a Saturday in November just to see what kind of
    cars show up, and to get a taste of what the next
    season may bring. From my foggy memory, I
    believe we had 8 cars show up, including big tire
    cars, as well a some small tire cars, and a tan Dart
    from New York that is still making the races locally.
